Families play a critical role in youth development and success, yet engaging families can be a major challenge for all sectors of communities. This workshop will highlight seven critical shifts for engaging families by focusing on family strengths and relationships, based on Search Institute’s two-year national initiative to design and test a two-generation approach to strengthening parent-youth relationships. In addition to exploring the shifts, participants will be introduced to Keep Connected, Search Institute’s new interactive workshop series to be used in local organizations and schools that guides adults and youth in exploring and strengthening their relationships as they enter adolescence.
